It Felt Good

Spent the weekend in NYC with Dad. No hassels. Just tv, work, dog walks, grocery shopping. It was pleasant. And unusually quiet.

Just a few of my other felting projects.

I have been drooling over the felting projects from this book. "Knit One, Felt Too: Discover the magic of knitted felt with 25 easy patterns" by Kathleen Taylor. I have been dying to make the little hat. I want those little felted slippers. I am thinking about the Christmas stockings in purple and green.

Alas, all I have made are the pot holders.

A whole bunch of felted squares. That's it... They are nice, but that's the extent of my knitting talent. Felted Squares. Oh well. Here they are...

Lots of stripes. That is as exciting as it gets, folks.

But I like these colors. They are the same that I have been using for my felted bag projects.

Oh, and look at them next to the Talavera square bowl. Now that is what I call pretty...

Your potholders look great! If you'd like to try some direct felting (going straight from fiber to felt, no knitting required), take a look at the book "Simply Felt: 20 Easy and Elegant Designs in Wool." I *love* that book! It shows you how to make hats, slippers, a child's cape -- all sorts of great-looking projects that you don't need to do any knitting for at all.

Thanks! LOL! I actually should learn more knitting, so that would just encourage me to be lazy. But that sounds like a great book!

Thanks for dropping by!

You are such a freakin' liar! If I'm not mistaken you have mastered knitting in the round with both circular and double pointed needles AND are making thumb gussets for mittens. You do have quite the felted repertoire now!

Hey, cupcake... Self-effacing knitting is just my style!

Otherwise, when I drop a stitch, the needle becomes a weapon. And that's not good... We have so few places to knit in this town. I don't want to get us banned from LaTazza... at least not for THAT!

Hey, I have that book too! I wanted to make everything in it, but have only so far completed the felted evening bag. It's cute, but not terribly practical. I love the stripes on your squares! Very festive.

Happy Knitting :)

One nice post deserves another - I saw these potholders at the LYS - I made a felted box that I don't think I will repeat - but the potholders have a definite purpose! Are these in the Knit One Felt Too? I needed to leave the store while I was still solvent so I didn't ask.
